Reducing Eye Strain from your Computer
I think it is quite obvious that most of us probably suffer from eye strain at some point or other nowadays. We all spend much more time in front of the computer than we used too. Although it is true we probably spend more time in front of the TV in the past, we now have both a TV and a computer. It is highly unlikely we are spending less time in front of a screen.
There are a number of strategies for reducing eye strain from your computer. Most of them involve controlling lighting. For example, too little light in your room with an exceptionally bright computer screen can be quite harmful to your eyes. It is best to have some light in your room and your computer screen. Additionally, it helps to adjust the settings on your computer to get the proper visibility. A monitor with good resolution and visibility make it easier to see the picture and less of a strain on your eyes.
Making sure you look down on the computer rather than up is also helpful. Looking up will be harmful to your neck. Looking downward is a more normal state for your neck.
Keeping your eyes from getting dry is another good strategy. Wetness in your eyes reduces the strain of looking at a screen all day. For the most part it is all common sense.
